Ebony is a descriptive term that can refer to one or more varieties of dense, dark or black hardwoods. A mix of dark brown and black shades is characteristic, and in some areas is arranged in a a banded pattern, referred to as tiger ebony. This is excellent quality wood hand cut into generously sized oval or football shaped beads accented with evenly spaced grooves carved into the wood.
