Here, we find sponge coral in a unique faceted teardrop shape. Sponge coral has tiny holes in it that were once the homes of tiny sea creatures. You can still see and feel the tiny holes in the beads. Sponge coral is often dyed and stabilized to enhance color and harden this soft material. Here, it may have been bleached to obtain the white to off-white color. Have fun creating with this unique shape, and add texture and an organic element to any design.
