Also, known as pub stone or black labradorite, it displays iridescence or chatoyance seen as flashes of blue light. This is similar to the labradorescence seen in labradorite. But, while labradorite is a translucent stone, larvikite appears opaque. Characteristically, larvikite has a silvery-gray background, with blue flashes of light and black flecks throughout.
