Chinese bloodstone is full of moody dark gray hues and dramatic bright red to burgundy colored patches, resembling the color of blood, against the gray and white field. It is possibly a type of chalcedony or quartz., but could also be a stabilized or low grade form of chicken blood stone. The coloring is similar to African bloodstone, but typically has more gray and less white or translucent areas. Each bead is unique with a different color pattern. These are nice beads, smooth, with great color and an excellent polish. These beads can be easily dressed up or down. Come on, let's make something beautiful!
