Impurities in the mineral however can change the color of the stone to anything from soft pastel pink to a more rare, warm, caramel brown. These are excellent quality brown rhodochrosite beads with great color throughout. Most of the beads are brown, with impressive banding, but there's an occasional pink bead that found its way into the mix. What strikes me most about these beads, however, is their weight. These beads are heavier than they look. Not such that it would make them uncomfortable to wear, but enough to let you know that this is real stone. They feel wonderful in the hand.
