Bayong is a hardwood that grows in the Philippines. It is durable, making it long wearing and suitable for jewelry. The natural color is a warm red-brown, with a lovely wood grain pattern that can be easily seen. Here, thin oval beads have been cut with a large hole in the center to create a bead that looks like a link in a chain. Use these as a link or spacer in your jewelry or embellish them by stringing beads in the center cut out. Lightweight and very smooth to the touch, these beads have an understated polish and natural sheen which allows them to retain a very natural and organic appearance.
