Patikan is a hard palmwood that grows in the Philippines. The natural grain of the wood has beautiful, parallel black markings, as if it were decorated with a paintbrush. And, the older the tree, the darker the wood. Generously sized at about 15mm, these particular beads are smooth with an understated polish that allows them to retain a very natural and organic appearance. Wood beads look great with a wide variety of metals. Try pairing them with semiprecious stones, shell, bone, and other natural materials. And, a bonus, the larger holed beads are perfect for crochet, macrame, and craft projects. Come on, let's make something beautiful!
