Bayong is a hardwood that grows in the Philippines. It is durable, making it long-wearing and suitable for jewelry. The natural color is a warm red-brown, with a nice wood grain pattern. The color along the strand may be consistent or there can be some variation. Lightweight and very smooth to the touch, these particular beads are generously sized at about 14-15mm. They have an understated polish which allows them to retain a very natural and organic appearance. You'll see a soft sheen from the wood as the beads are rolled around in the light.
