Ebony is a descriptive term that can refer to one or more varieties of dense, dark or black hardwoods. In this particular lot, you'll find a rich, very dark brown, almost black coloring, referred to as prime or near prime cut. There is minimal brown banding. Characteristically, ebony woods have a fine, tight wood grain, that takes a very nice polish. These particular beads are generously sized, super smooth and have a soft sheen when rolled around in the light. Wood beads look great with a wide variety of metals and will bring a warm, organic touch to your jewelry. Try pairing them with semiprecious stones, shell, bone, and other natural materials.
